El Pobre's Waynesville Restaurant = Muy Bueno!

Last night I met my friends Bonnie and Cathy for Mexican food at the new El Pobre Mexican Restaurant in Waynesville Plaza in Waynesville (828) 456-9557. El Pobre has been in business in Canton for years at 6841 Cruso Road (828-235-9311).

My Quesadilla Mexicana (on the bright red plate) was fresh, delicious and tender. Unfortunately I didn't write down what Bonnie and Cathy ordered ... but there wasn't any food left on their plates when we left, and they both raved about their meals. The service was very pleasant and most attentive.

El Pobre is a great restaurant and a great addition to our dining options in Waynesville. EAT LOCAL! Be an El Pobre Fan on Facebook here.

Up a Creek in Maggie Valley… Don’t ‘Fall’ In.

October 23rd, 2009 Categories: Best of ...., Hot Local Topics, Maggie Valley Photos, Photography

This creek runs close and parallel to Soco Road (Highway 19) in Maggie Valley. The sound of the rushing creek is captivating. Forget cleaning house if you live on a creek unless it’s frozen!

Rushing creeks in Haywood County are quite unique in that no water flows INTO the County. Every stream, creek and river in the County originates here.
