The Highwayman Cheeseburger

'The Highwayman', Cheese & Burger Society

The Cheese & Burger Society is dedicated to honoring the greatness of cheese—specifically Wisconsin Cheese. They make a strong case by displaying a collection of some of the greatest cheeseburgers ever made. Not to mention providing an uber-cool website to shuffle through, and narration by that guy who played The Tick. You’re welcome.

Thanksgiving Foodie Porn ~ Amaretto Cake

This is what I'm taking to a Thanksgiving gathering tomorrow in Waynesville. The recipe I used is one that I used at my Mother's restaurant in Sarasota years ago, and the cake was one of the most popular cakes ever.

Hershey Bar Pie. (Recipe below.)

Oreo Crust:
Crush around 30 Oreo cookies so you have 2 cups of cookie crumbs. Add 4 Tablespoons of melted butter. Add more cookies if mixture is too wet... depends on size of crumbs and whether you use Double-Filled Oreos or not. ;-) Mix, then press into pie pan, and chill.

Hershey Bar Pie
6-1.35 ounce Hershey bars with almonds
16 marshmallows
1/2 cup milk

Heat above ingredients in double boiler or over low heat until ingredients are melted; mix together, and then cool completely. (Double recipe if you have no willpower as this is easy and delicious to eat by the spoonfull!)

Beat 1 cup of whipping cream and mix into the cooled Hershey's chocolate mixture. (I've used CoolWhip in the place of whipped cream; either one works well!).

Chill overnight. I put CoolWhip on the top before serving, with Oreo cookie crumbs sprinkled on top to make it pretty. Whipped cream on top is just as good.

Always a hit!
