BIG Snow in Maggie Valley NC December 18-19 2009

Our weather forecast for Maggie Valley on Friday morning said Winter Storm Warning with a wintry mix of ice and snow. Ha ha! Joke was on us. We had LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL SNOW! Photos below were taken early Saturday morning (12/19), except for the feral kitty photos, which were taken late Sunday afternoon.

Many lost all power, including me (I have all electric heat and no fireplace). My power came back after 27 hours (late Saturday afternoon). Television and internet came back late Sunday evening.

I was only alarmed about not having a camper stove so I could drink something to keep me warm internally. You can bet I'll have something to warm liquids when power is out as soon as I can get out of my driveway, which should be today or tomorrow.

My little tiny cabin is clean and I even have 2010 files made and ready to go!

Rainy but with a hint of Christmas at Lake Junaluska yesterday.

The beautiful roses are gone (for now) at Lake Junaluska, but the Christmas decorations are adding color and a festive atmosphere in their place. Here is a link to Christmas Events at Lake Junaluska.
